Find out what your local breweries are crafting with these DC locations.

D.C. is a popular tourist destination for people who come to see the White House, the Smithsonian, the Lincoln Memorial, and the National Gallery of Art. The city is filled with historical treasures and beautiful parks, but it's also home to some of the best breweries you'll find anywhere. If craft beer and scrumptious food sounds good, our real estate agents recommend visiting these local D.C. breweries where family fun is also on the menu.

  • Atlas Brew Works
Atlas Brew Works is a popular neighborhood brewery and taproom with two D.C. locations, one on Half Street and one in Ivy City. Known for amazing craft beer, Atlas is one of the few breweries that's completely powered by solar energy. The Half Street Brewery and Taproom features 15 tap beers, New York-style pizza and wings, a dozen TVs, and a big outdoor patio. The Ivy City Taproom features craft beer and special events like the Bear Pong Tournament, Book Swaps, the City Dogs and Cat Fundraiser, Drinksgiving, and Small Business Saturday.
  • Bluejacket
Bluejacket is a restaurant and bar with delicious entrees, sandwiches, and a rotating selection of 20 beers and 4 cask ales. It's located in a unique 3-level industrial building on Tingey Street known as the Boilermaker Shops, once part of the Navy Yards Ship and Munitions manufacturing complex. Bluejacket is open daily for lunch, brunch, and dinner, and they also offer private dining for special events like wedding parties, bachelor parties, and business lunches. The bottle shop is the perfect setting for small dinner parties, cocktail receptions, and brewery tours.
  • City-State Brewing
City-State Brewing, located in Edgewood, has a Taproom that's open rain or shine. It's a family-friendly, casual setting where you can enjoy great food from a rotating group of local food vendors or bring your own. The taproom serves a variety of canned beers and ales made with American hops. Favorites include Edgewood Extra Special, Featherduster Hazy, Lost Laws Pilsner, and Lux Lager, an all-malt premium lager. This is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon with the kids.
  • Hellbender Brewing Company
At Hellbender Brewing, located in the heart of D.C., the brewing process is still based on centuries-old methods. This was the first east coast brewery to invest in a mash filter which increased efficiency and allowed faster brewing. The taproom offers a variety of German Lager beers and Belgian ales served in cans or by the glass. Hellbender is a fun place that offers food trucks, music events, Open Mic Night, Pizza Night, and Trivia Night.
  • Red Bear Brewing Company
Red Bear Brewing is a neighborhood brewery located in the heart of the city. Popular with city residents and people looking for D.C. homes for sale, the Red Bear supports D.C's brewing heritage and many community events. There's a full kitchen that makes lunches every day, and the taproom offers a variety of on-tap beers, seltzers, and ciders. While sipping your favorite beverage, you can enjoy Pub Trivia Night and fun card and board games with family and friends.
  • Right Proper Brewing Company
Right Proper Brewing is a small neighborhood brewpub located next door to the historic Howard Theatre in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood. They offer lunch, dinner, and house-brewed beers 7 days a week.
